The mighty trees that bravely stand atop these peaks are constantly battered, bending and twisting so as to reveal the true force of the power of nature.

Long after the lineup has cleared out and the beaches have emptied, passion keeps a select few in the ocean. They ignore the setting sun and welcome the darkness that brings the uncrowded waves they dream of.

Settling into position on a volcanic black sand beach, this Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle, or “honu”, needs its rest before heading back out to sea. Turtles are migratory animals that travel thousands of miles in the open ocean. Their anatomy has hardly changed in millions of years, since the time of the dinosaurs.
